Farm Animals - Cats

This early reader book provides very basic information about cats. It identifies cats as living on farms as part of a series about farm animals. This is one of the few books in that series that we are recommending. Why? Because it depicts farm cats accurately as few books do. It has a photo and description of a cat chasing a large mouse in the dark and the next page depicts a different cat with a small mouse caught in its mouth and the text reads, “This cat got a mouse!†The text consists of only one or two sentences per page in large type. The book ends with a glossary, additional resources and Web sites.
