The book's main focus is on rangeland grazing but the book does have information of value to readers anywhere in the country. Using the stories of three Montana ranchers, Cris describes the love ranchers have for their land, efforts to preserve and enhance the environment and raise a healthy food source for America's consumers. She depicts that their efforts care for their cattle and enhance the wildlife habitat on their ranches.
