Learn more about the Foundation's Apex Award!

The American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s Apex Award is given to a State Farm Bureau that has donated 10% more to the Foundation than they did the previous year. In the last 8 years, Illinois Farm Bureau has won the Apex award 6 times – truly showing their commitment to agricultural literacy and education.

We see our greatest successes in Farm Bureau when we come together.  Often this collective voice is heard through our legislative work.  But our role and response to support the work of the charitable foundation is just as important. Together, we are creating more opportunities for education. We are helping more young people make food to farm connections. We know that maintaining a strong program like Agriculture in the Classroom means an ongoing need for financial support. That’s why Illinois Farm Bureau never hesitates to continue our donations to the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. It takes all of us contributing to have the desired impact—a more ag literate society.  We believe in the work, place value on the Mission, and have faith in our partners to further our charitable purpose.

~Richard L. Guebert, Jr. President, Illinois Farm Bureau

State Farm Bureaus can support agricultural literacy education by donating to the Ag Foundation. In addition to the Apex Award, the Foundation also awards the State Leader Award to state Farm Bureaus whose board members each donate at least $50. We’re proud of the 6 states that have qualified so far for 2020 and are excited to see what additional states qualify in the coming months! Information on the State Leader Award and Apex Award can be found here.
